I watched family after family piece the recruiting process together from databases, advice, email templates, and spreadsheets.
Each resource could help with part of the job. The missing piece was a shared place to connect one student's golf profile with the programs that recruit players like them, then keep the research and outreach current.
The information existed, but families could not use it together
Going through this process myself made the gap clear. The information families need exists, but it was scattered across different tools and conversations.
Each college golf program develops recruiting patterns in the players it signs. Scoring differential, class rank, class year, and recent commit history help show how one student's golf profile compares with those patterns.
Families could use several kinds of resources, but none connected the full workflow:
- Recruiting databases helped families search and filter schools
- Coaches and consultants added judgment and experience
- Content platforms explained recruiting rules and common steps
Families still had to connect the pieces around one question: which schools fit my student's game right now, based on who those programs actually recruit?
What we built instead
golfrecruit.ai starts with the data other tools don't have: historical commit profiles from 2,000+ college golf programs across D1, D2, D3, NAIA, NJCAA, and Club Golf.
These profiles capture scoring differential, class rank, class year, and recent commit history. They show the recruiting patterns behind what each program actually does.
When your student creates a profile, the AI Coach assesses Golf Fit against these historical patterns and returns one connected recommendation:
- Score and tier - Dream, Realistic, or Safety, grounded in the player's verified golf profile and class year
- Reasoning and guidance - the evidence behind the fit and what could make it stronger
golfrecruit.ai gives each family a specific list of schools with the reasoning behind every recommendation. Academic, cost, major, and location information stays visible beside Golf Fit so the family can make the decision.
An AI coach that knows your student
School matching was the starting point. But recruiting is a process, not a single answer.
So we built an AI recruiting coach that holds your student's full context - their scores, their ranking, their grade, their goals, their notes on every school they're considering. When they ask a question, the answer is specific to them.
A freshman ranked 800th nationally gets different guidance than a junior ranked 200th. A player targeting D3 programs in the Northeast needs different school research than one exploring D1 programs in the Southeast.
The AI Coach can help with school research, tournament planning, outreach, and next steps. Families can still bring consequential recruiting decisions to their coach and verify official rules with the NCAA or the school.
Coach outreach built around the student and program
One of the biggest pain points we heard from families: "We emailed 30 coaches and got two responses."
Many outreach emails fail to give a coach a reason to keep reading. Generic templates omit program-specific context, and families often lack a clear follow-up system.
golfrecruit.ai drafts personalized outreach for each coaching staff using your student's real stats and program-specific details. Reported opens and clicks can help a family plan follow-up, but they do not prove a coach's level of interest.
Why we kept building
Recruiting rules, rosters, and a student's competitive record all change over time. Families need a system that keeps the school list, fit guidance, research, and outreach connected as that happens.
We built golfrecruit.ai to give families access to program data and guidance specific to their student. The AI Coach explains the evidence behind Golf Fit, and the family decides what to do with it.
What's next
This is the beginning. We're publishing regular insights here on topics that matter to recruiting families - from tournament strategy and coach outreach timing to scholarship math and NCAA rule changes. Every piece is grounded in real data, not generic advice.
If you're navigating college golf recruiting - whether your student is a freshman just starting to think about it or a junior deep in the process - we built this for you.
